Just 5km from Scarriff, is East Clare Golf Club and contained by its grounds neighboring the old walled garden is the group of holiday homes known as the Golf Lodges. The enormous span of Lough Derg is the major lake on the River Shannon, which runs all the way through counties Clare, Limerick and Tipperary. West of the Lake in East Clare, the scenery is countrified, calm and the locale scattered with exquisite little villages such as Tuamgraney, Bodyke and Scarriff, all of which are prejudiced by the river and Lake, which flows nearby.

The unique Coolrech house has been changed into the reception area, and comes ready with state of the art consultation services and conference room area for up to 50, making this an perfect place for expert group bookings. Apparently golfers are spoilt for choice with such a magnificent route and 15 more in the vicinity! But outside activities mean this is a contented holiday base for non-golfers and those who desire to travel around the area.

There are walks from the door, and the East Clare Way is a confront for more skilled walkers; many opportunities to connect in equestrian pursuits, obtainable for all grades; and of course its nearness to Lough Derg means all water sports are easily available. Killaloe, just 25 minutes drive is a lively town, with a 13th century cathedral and lots of excellent restaurants, pubs and shops. A great day out is a stopover to the Craggaunown Project with its example of bronze age dwellings and Knappogue Castle and Quin Abbey. Or trip Limerick city and King Johns Castle and the Hunt Museum and take in Bunratty Castle and Folk Park.
